Dominion Life

We were created to have Dominion.

Adam and Eve were given Dominion over the earth by God.

Unfortunately, they exchanged their authority for independence.

The world was cursed.

Man was cursed.

Woman was cursed.

The land was cursed.

The serpent was cursed.

God wants to restore that original Dominion back to us.

This theme is woven throughout all the scriptures.

Abraham was told wherever he sets his foot belongs to him.

The promise land was the beginning of our return to Dominion life.

But the curse plagued our hearts still.

There was slavery.

Hardship.

Oppression.

But then finally, there was deliverance.

Abraham's descendants were freed from slavery by God through Moses and entered the wilderness.

Testing.

Trials.

Faithlessness.

A lost generation.

Two men stood strong.

Joshua and Caleb.

They led the new generation into the promise land.

They conquered.

But not completely.

Giants remained in the land as thorns in their sides.

So a king was raised up.

One after God's own heart.

David slayed the giant and took back more land than any other king.

He was beginning to restore Dominion back to us.

But the curse still plagued us.

Man was cursed.

Woman was cursed.

The land was cursed.

The serpent was cursed.

And so even the greatest king could not fulfill the mission to restore what was lost.

Dominion slipped through our hands again.

And the world replayed the same tragedies over and over again.

The curse was to heavy to lift.

The cursed serpent was winning.

And we were killing each other.

Pain.

Loss.

Death.

And then one day, everything changed.

A king was born.

An announcement was made.

The messiah came to us.

Jesus was baptized and the Holy Spirit rested upon him.

He walked with Dominion like no one else had ever done.

He exercised Dominion over sin and sickness, over the enemy and all evil.

He won every battle.

He gave his disciples authority to do the same.

Finally, our Dominion was being restored.

But the curse still plagued us.

Man was cursed.

Woman was cursed.

The land was cursed.

The serpent was cursed.

And so Jesus was rejected and betrayed.

We refused to receive from him.

We murdered the Son of God.

Oh forgive us, merciful Father.

And if that was the end, we would be without hope.

But blessed be our Father in heaven.

For the Son lives!

He reigns!

And he has been given Dominion again!

He became the curse plaguing us and plaguing this land.

He became the curse so that our bondage would be broken.

He became the curse so that we could be free to reign again.

Jesus set us free!

And he taught us to go and do everything he commanded us.

And gave us a mission to take back our Dominion.

And he sent the Holy Spirit to empower us for this mission.

Finally, Dominion is being restored.

We are seated with Christ in heavenly places and we reign with him on this earth as his body.

We belong to him.

And he is ours.

We are one.

Living in Dominion together.
